JAKARTA, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said here on Saturday that stronger friendship and cooperation between China and Indonesia have not only promoted their respective development, but also set an example of mutually beneficial cooperation among Global South countries.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, chairman of Indonesia's National Economic Council.
Wang noted that China sincerely helps Indonesia accelerate its development, encourages and supports Chinese enterprises in continuing to invest and do business in Indonesia, helping the country turn its resource advantages into development momentum and better lives for local people, and accelerate its industrialization process.
In this regard, Wang said China hopes and believes that the Indonesian government will provide Chinese enterprises with a safe, stable and sound business environment.
Noting that Indonesia-China relations are built on mutual respect, mutual trust and profound friendship, Luhut said bilateral cooperation, particularly Chinese enterprises' investment in Indonesia, has made important and positive contributions to the country's economic development and the improvement of people's livelihoods.
Indonesia regards China as its most trustworthy friend and partner, Luhut said, adding that Indonesia always welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in the country and will provide them with a fair and friendly business environment.
