DALIAN, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- China-made electric multiple units (EMUs) and electric locomotives to be exported to Malaysia rolled off the production line on Tuesday at CRRC Dalian Co., Ltd. in Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The EMUs for passenger services and the freight locomotives will be used along the east coast of Malaysia.
These EMUs and electric locomotives boast cutting-edge features, such as noise reduction technology and intelligent human-machine interaction, respectively. Thanks to installed safety protection systems -- critical functions of the locomotives, like braking, fire prevention and high-voltage insulation, can be monitored with millisecond-level precision.
Production of these EMUs and locomotives represents CRRC's active involvement in the Belt and Road Initiative, according to CRRC Dalian Co., Ltd.
With blue-and-white color schemes and designs inspired by ocean waves, as well as endemic animals and plants found in Malaysia, the EMUs will offer local residents smarter, more comfortable and convenient travel options.
CRRC Dalian is an affiliated company under CRRC Corporation, China's top train manufacturer -- and the world's largest supplier of rail transit equipment.
