BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China welcomes and supports all efforts conducive to easing the tensions between Palestine and Israel, foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Tuesday.
Guo made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked to comment on a plan proposed by the Trump administration aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza.
Guo said China calls on all relevant parties to earnestly implement relevant UN resolutions, immediately achieve a complete ceasefire in Gaza, release all detained persons, and alleviate the humanitarian disaster in the area as soon as possible.
China advocates adhering to the principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine," promotes the implementation of the two-State solution, and is willing to work with the international community to make unremitting efforts for an early, comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue, he said.
