BISSAU, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Guinea-Bissau's newly appointed Prime Minister Braima Camara has voiced hope to maintain close communication and cooperation with China, and to deepen mutually beneficial ties across various fields.
Camara made the remarks on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo, who congratulated him on his appointment.
China, Camara said, is one of Guinea-Bissau's most important international partners and has long provided substantial and selfless support for the country's independence and development. He noted that the government and people of Guinea-Bissau are deeply grateful for China's assistance.
The prime minister pledged to lead his government in fostering close engagement with China, expanding cooperation in multiple sectors, and promoting the sustained growth of bilateral relations.
For his part, Yang highlighted the long-standing friendship between the two countries. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of their heads of state, China and Guinea-Bissau have established a strategic partnership, with bilateral ties developing steadily and yielding tangible results in practical cooperation.
Yang expressed China's willingness to work with Camara and his new government to further strengthen cooperation and elevate bilateral relations to a new level.
