The Global Development Initiative (GDI) was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the general debate of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2021.
It aims to pool efforts to tackle challenges, promote post-COVID recovery and seize opportunities so as to open up a bright future for achieving common sustainable development and building a global development community.
The international community must pursue the larger interests of all countries, respond to people's concerns, and restore development to the center of the international agenda.
