The Global Development Initiative (GDI) was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the general debate of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in September 2021.
It aims to pool efforts to tackle challenges, promote post-COVID recovery and seize opportunities so as to open up a bright future for achieving common sustainable development and building a global development community.
The international community must pursue the larger interests of all countries, respond to people's concerns, and restore development to the center of the international agenda.

The GDI will stay committed to:
Both sides should continuously enhance political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation and strengthen international collaboration to open a new chapter of all-round cooperation, Xi said.
China and Cambodia have always been at the forefront of building a community with a shared future for mankind, bringing tangible benefits to the Cambodian people, said Xi.
Li said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, China and Azerbaijan have always respected each other and treated each other as equals, fostering deep friendship and trust. Pragmatic cooperation has continually deepened, bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples.
