CIDCA chairman meets with China’s new permanent delegate to UNESCO

On Dec 11, 2023, Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with the newly-inaugurated Chinese Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Yang Xinyu.

Luo introduced the CIDCA's work in implementing the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and its cooperation with third party international organizations. He said that the CIDCA is ready to carry out pragmatic cooperation with UNESCO in such areas as promoting the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-30), cultural relics protection and capacity building.

Yang said that as China's representative to UNESCO, she will spare no efforts in promoting the China-proposed GDI, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, and push for greater cooperation with more pragmatic results.

Head of the CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Center Tang Ying also attended the meeting.
