Chinese vice president meets African Union Commission chairperson

BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Tuesday met with Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, who is in Beijing for the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

Han said China is willing to join hands with the AU to firmly support each other on issues of their respective core interests and major concerns, and promote new and greater development in China-AU relations and China-Africa cooperation in various fields.

Faki expected Africa and China to continuously deepen their exchanges and cooperation in various fields, expressing the willingness to work with China to hold high the banner of Global South cooperation and practice true multilateralism.
