BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- China welcomes Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to visit the country and attend the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday.
Mao made the remarks at a daily press conference when responding to a question on report that Anthony Albanese said that he will visit China from Nov. 4 to 7 and attend the 6th CIIE.
China welcomes Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to visit the country at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and his attendance at the 6th CIIE, Mao said. "A sound and stable China-Australia relationship serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples and is conducive to regional and world peace and stability."
China is ready to work with Australia to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance exchanges and cooperation in various fields and promote the continuous improvement and development of bilateral relations, to bring more benefits to the two peoples, Mao added.
