In response to the grave challenges that humanity faces, President Xi Jinping first proposed the idea of creating a global community with a shared future ten years ago, and it has since developed into a comprehensive framework. In 2015, a five-point proposal was made, and in 2017, five global goals were suggested. These achievements demonstrate China's dedication to enlarging and extending its vision to increase its relevance and influence in the world arena.
At its core, the vision of a world community with a common future emphasizes how intertwined all countries and people are. Greater harmony on the planet we all call home is encouraged by its appeal for cooperation in the face of difficulty. This vision demands the establishment of an open, inclusive, clean, and peaceful society; it is not only an ideal that may be discussed in abstract terms. China's dedication to realizing this vision is evident in its multifaceted initiatives. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) have all produced real outcomes that have boosted global wealth and stability while helping countless individuals. These efforts transcend national boundaries, representing the cooperative spirit that drives the global community with a shared future.
Importantly, the concept has received considerable international recognition. It connects to humanity's common interests and embodies the universal desire for peace, fairness, and progress. Contrary to popular belief, it is not motivated by self-interest or protectionism but rather provides a comprehensive view of human growth. In doing so, it undermines some nations' hegemonic goals for domination, emphasizing collaboration as well as unity among all countries.
The release of this white paper is a significant step towards introducing the theoretical foundation, practical implementations, and ongoing growth of a global community with a shared future. It is a ray of hope for the world community, creating greater understanding and consensus.
It emphasizes the worldwide commitment to bringing this vision to fruition and highlights the importance of collective action.
