BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislator Li Zhanshu on Friday met with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Hun Sen in Beijing.
Li, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, noted that the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia has withstood shifts in the international situation. He said that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders in the new era, the construction of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future has made substantial progress, setting a good example for a new type of international relation.
Li said China firmly supports Cambodia in safeguarding its sovereignty, security and development interests, and in maintaining stability, promoting development and improving people's livelihoods. China is ready to work with Cambodia to implement the important high-level consensus reached, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, host a series of activities for China-Cambodia Friendship Year, and build a high-quality, high-level and high-standard China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
Li noted that the legislatures of the two countries should strengthen communication and cooperation to provide legal support for bilateral cooperation.
Hun Sen said that Cambodia and China are iron-clad friends, and that Cambodia adheres to the one-China principle, stands ready to enhance mutual trust with China, help build a high-quality Belt and Road, jointly construct a cooperation framework in six major areas, and promote the in-depth development of the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
