BEIJING, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- China's top political advisor Wang Yang Thursday met with the president of the First Chamber of the Dutch parliament, Jan Anthonie Bruijn, via video link.
Wang, chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of ambassadorial diplomatic relations between China and the Netherlands. He said the recent meeting of the two countries' leaders spoke volumes about their mutual desire to push forward bilateral ties.
China hopes the two sides will continue to deepen cooperation in agriculture, water conservancy, energy, and high-tech openly and pragmatically, strengthen people-to-people exchanges, properly handle differences and ensure steady and long-term bilateral-tie development.
China also hopes that the Dutch side will play a constructive role in working for a healthy and stable development of China-EU relations, Wang added.
Wang said the CPPCC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the First Chamber of the Dutch parliament and positively contribute to developing ties between the two countries.
Bruijn said the Dutch side attaches importance to developing relations with China and is willing to continue to deepen the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
The First Chamber of the Dutch parliament would strengthen exchanges with the CPPCC to push forward bilateral ties, said Bruijn.
