On August 26, 2022, Party Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Qi Yu met with Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Ivanovich Denisov, who is leaving his post and returning to his country.
Secretary Qi Yu spoke highly of Denisov's positive contributions to the development of China-Russia relations over the past nine-plus years since he served as Ambassador to China. Qi Yu said that the Chinese Foreign Ministry is ready to work with the Russian side to continuously advance cooperation between China and Russia in various fields to higher levels in accordance with the important strategic consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin and the specific arrangements made by the two foreign ministers. I hope Mr. Ambassador will continue to care for and support the development of China-Russia relations and contribute to promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields after returning to Russia.
Ambassador Denisov said that during his tenure as Ambassador to China, he had the honor to witness the unprecedented achievements of Russia-China relations under the guidance of the two heads of state, and that he will continue to make unremitting efforts to promote Russia-China cooperation and develop the friendship between the two countries. He wishes the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China a complete success.
