NANJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Lianyungang city in East China's Jiangsu Province has donated a batch of medical supplies to aid members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) to fight COVID-19, according to local authorities Tuesday.

The supplies including medical masks, thermal imagers, infrared thermometers and protective suits totaling 260,000 pieces have been shipped to destinations in Central Asia on a China-Europe cargo train Tuesday morning.

Donated by the SCO (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park and the Lianyungang Port Holdings Group Co., Ltd., the goods will arrive in countries including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan within seven days in coordination with the Beijing-based SCO secretariat.

Lianyungang has maintained close contact with SCO members and the organization's secretariat. The city has reached out to manufacturers of medical supplies in the province as well as Zhejiang and Shandong provinces to secure the goods.
