DHAKA, April 7 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese firm has offered support to a Bangladeshi government agency in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

PowerChina Chengdu Engineering Corp Ltd Monday in capital Dhaka donated 30,000 piece of surgical face masks, 3,000 pieces of KN90 face masks, 545 sets of protective suits, thermometer guns and goggles to Dhaka Water Supply & Sewerage Authority (DWASA).

Md. Tazul Islam, Bangladeshi minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives and officials from both the Bangladeshi government and Powerchina Eurasia and International Corporation, Powerchina Chengdu Engineering were, among others, present at the donation ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Taqsem A Khan, managing director and chief executive officer of DHAKA WASA, expressed thanks for the assistance from the Chinese firm.

Tazul Islam also highly praised the Chinese company for the great action and friendship at the critical moment.
