UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- In a UN General Assembly vote on Friday, Chinese candidate Huang Huikang won re-election into the International Law Commission for a five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2023.
The International Law Commission was established by the General Assembly in 1947 for the promotion of the progressive development of international law and its codification.
The commission is composed of 34 members. Membership follows the principle of regional representation.
