China's top procurator calls on SCO members to jointly combat trafficking of women, children

BEIJING, Oct. 29  (Xinhua) -- China's top procurator has called for deepening judicial exchanges and cooperation among the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states and jointly combating trafficking of women and children, among other crimes.

Zhang Jun, procurator-general of China's Supreme People's Procuratorate, made the remarks on Friday when addressing the 19th meeting of prosecutors general of the SCO member states via video link.

Zhang stressed enhancing the capability of preventing and fighting against such crimes, expanding judicial exchanges, and seeking more fruitful cooperation through various means including bilateral or multilateral treaties for legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition.
